Suspended eBay Account General Information.

Did you know that according to eBay's section 9 user agreement, eBay can suspend your account at any time and for any reason? Some often believe that their perfect score of 100% positive feedback or their powerseller status will protect their account from becoming suspended. The harsh reality is it can happen to anyone.

An account is typically suspended from eBay for serious violations of eBay's rules and policies. According to eBay's terms and conditions your account can be suspended at any time and for any reason. Your account can be suspended for something as simple as not keeping your account finances current, or not updating your phone number and someone reporting it when they couldn't contact you.

If you violate an eBay policy either by your actions or the content of your listings, you will typically receive an informational alert explaining the violation. Repeated violators of eBay rules, may be indefinitely suspended by eBay. Indefinitely suspended users may have their eBay account reinstated, but remember it is at eBay's discretion.

Indefinite eBay Suspension is the suspension of a user's eBay privileges for more than 60 days with no definite account reinstatement date.

According to eBay, members who are suspended are prohibited from registering new accounts with eBay, or bidding or selling on eBay using any existing accounts. eBay reserves the right to suspend existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household of a suspended user or by any other associates of a suspended user.

While your eBay account is suspended, you are unable to sign in to your "My eBay" page and you will only be able to contact bidders if and when your eBay account is reinstated.

Due to your suspended eBay account, members involved in your transactions may choose to retract their offers.

What happens when your account is suspended by eBay?

Suspended eBayers are notified by eBay with an unexpected email containing an suspended eBay account notice. Their first initial response is disbelief so immediately they go to the eBay site to log into their account. Once there, they discover that eBay had ended all of their current auctions just prior to their eBay suspension notice being sent.

Frustrations soon begin with their inability to contact eBay and those who were either bidding on one of their auctions or trying to make payment for an item that was won prior to the eBay suspension. eBay live help tells them they can't help, eBay Safe Harbor refuses to respond to their constant emails.

For the next 60 days, suspended members sit back with their hands tied behind their back and watch as the number of negative feedback continuosly rise from the now angry customers that can't be contacted. Once the sixty days are up, some are given the chance to reinstate their suspended eBay account. Those whose eBay accounts are reinstated spend months trying to rebuild the status of their eBay account back up to what it once was.

Once an eBay account becomes suspended it is basically worthless. The inability to contact your customer's causes an endless trail of negative feedback from any uncompleted transactions you might have had prior to your suspended eBay account.
